Eligibility
To participate in a Nova Scotia School of Adult Learning program, a learner must:
- currnetly reside in Nova Scotia;
- be 18 years of age or older;
- not currently be in school;
- be one of the following:
- a Canadian citizen;
- a permanent resident;
- a protected person, as defined in Section 95 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; or
- a permanent resident applicant with a work permit.
- Be sufficiently proficient in speaking and listening in the language of instruction to benefit fully from NSSAL Programs.
NSSAL programs are designed to serve Nova Scotian adults who want to: improve their essential skills which include reading, math, computer, and other important academic and workplace skills; work towards a high school diploma or equivalency; and/or upgrade their high school credits to qualify for post-secondary education.
