The Antigonish County Adult Learning Association (ACALA) is a community, not-for-profit organization. We have provided adult and family learning opportunities in the Antigonish area since 1994. We believe that "Everyone is a Lifelong Learner."
Our Programs

Canadian Adult Education Credential
(Replacing the GED)
Earn high school equivalecy with CAEC. Study with a qualified instructor at ACALA.

Employment Programs
Ready to join or re-join the workforce? Our employment readiness programs are designed to help you improve your skills for work.

Life Skills
Improve the skills you use in your everyday life. Topics may include money management, cooking, or smart shopping.

Academic Upgrading
Improve your skills in math, reading, writing, science, or social studies. We offer classes for ALP Levels 1, 2, and 3. One-on-one tutoring also available.

Digital Literacy
Learn the basics of how to use your computer. Lessons are available for complete beginners and those who just want to learn a bit more.

Lunch & Learns
Occuring monthly, these lunchtime events feature various learning opportunities from people in our own community.

Workshops
Throughout the year, ACALA hosts a variety of workshops where community can come together and learn skills in a fun, engaging environment.

Family Book Club
Read together as a family! In these bi-weekly sessions, children and their adults will read stories, have discussions, and participate in fun activites.
